Ian’s focus is working with credit unions. His primary role is to clearly communicate credit unions’ ideas and issues to the senior levels of SaskCentral. As well, he is the “front line” in the promotion of MarketSolutions’ suite of products and services. He strives to ensure that credit unions’ voices are heard, their needs are met and their issues are resolved.

Ian has been part of the Saskatchewan credit union system since 1990. He held various positions at Watrous Credit Union before moving to Regina in 1998. At that time, he was employed by CULEASE Financial Services as leasing officer and business development representative, working with credit unions across Western Canada. In 2003, he joined SaskCentral as an account manager and later became part of the Concentra Financial Relationship Management & Sales team, working with credit unions at a strategic level. After a brief period outside of the credit union system, Ian rejoined SaskCentral as part of the newly-formed Client Relations business unit.

Ian has worked very closely with management teams, board and groups of credit unions. He routinely facilitates discussion groups, makes various presentations and participates in and leads strategic and operational planning sessions.

Ian has obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan with a major in General Business. He also holds the FCUIC designation.

In his spare time, Ian enjoys fishing, camping, traveling and a variety of sports. He is very proud of his rural roots and is active in the family farm near Watrous, Saskatchewan.
