think the same? Yet, each and every one of us, with our own
unique way of thinking, makes an invaluable contribution to
the success of our work together. Each and every one of us
adds value to our success as an organization.
Board performance is one of the critical factors that drive
a credit union’s effectiveness. Consulting Services
can develop a customized survey to evaluate your board’s
understanding of its role in the areas such as governance,
decision-making and leadership style. The valuable information
gathered through the survey is presented to your board as
a developmental tool.
An effective team is comprised of a variety of talents and
strengths. It is the diversity that exists between individuals
that we seek in building strong, productive Board teams.
In keeping with this fundamental management principal, we
begin the analysis of Board Effectiveness by identifying the
strengths brought by each member of the team.
The first part of this program asks you how you work together
with your peers in the work of the Board. It gives us a foundation
upon which to build the team to lead the Credit Union into
a successful future.
The second part of the program is more operational in nature.
It asks for your assessment of how things are now, and how
you see ‘the way we get things done’ that can
be improved.
This process will identify strengths and challenges faced
by Directors; and action planning that adds value to Board
performance.
This is the Directors’ chance (collectively and individually)
to contribute to the overall success of their future as Directors,
and the future of their Credit Union in service to their membership
and their community.
